Program Highlights
- The KEMTP Test is the first of its kind in the nation to be given
on-line. The test can be accessed through our website at http://www.mathclass.org/.
- It is the first testing program of its kind in the nation to be created
as a result of state law. The program was created by the General Assembly
of the Commonwealth of Kentucky when it unanimously passed House Bill 178
sponsored by Representatives Jon Draud and Frank Rasche in the 2000 Regular Session and the bill was signed into law by Governor
Paul E. Patton.
- The test is developed by a diverse group of Kentucky college and
high school mathematics teachers. The test questions involve
mathematical topics that incoming college students are expected to know
and that are covered in high school Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II.
- The outreach program brings together the college and high school
mathematics communities in the state to discuss the test and other issues
of common concern.
